The world’s greatest value investor - Warren Buffett - sold 13% of his holdings in Apple - AAPL stock. The rational is simple: Apple stock is overvalued and there are other options available. One of the first things to keep in mind is that Buffett rarely sells anything, especially such a huge holding as Apple. And, more than likely he is still selling - Buffett usually sells during multiple quarters.

Be that, as it may, notwithstanding the sale of his holdings, when Apple announced its last financials, AAPL stock shot up significantly. The reason is that Apple announced a $100B share buyback. This will reduce the total shares outstanding for Apple by ~4%.

Despite the share buyback, which is certainly positive for AAPL overall, the stock is still overvalued and on a relative basis, is not a solid value investment at this time.
