Watch For Spikes Higher in Initial Claims

There have been freezes in federal funding for many programs. This is disruptive and one of the main outcomes from this will be spikes higher in unemployment. The economic data that will show these unemployment spikes will be initial claims, the Department of Labor’s weekly employment release. While the unemployment number is low for now, the disruptions to Federal programs will be widespread and unemployment will spike.
